This average percentage calculator can determine the simple or weighted average of multiple percentage values.
The following formula is used:
Average (%) = Sum of all percentages ÷ Number of percentages
or
Average (%) = (P1 + P2 + P3 + ... + Pn) ÷ n
Find the average of 25%, 32%, 43%, 55%, and 70%.
Apply the values in the formula:
= (25 + 32 + 43 + 55 + 70) ÷ 5
= 225 ÷ 5
= 45%
Find the average of 60%, 88%, and 140%.
= (60 + 88 + 140) ÷ 3
= 288 ÷ 3
= 96%
The following formula is used:
Weighted Average (%) = ∑(Pi × Wi) ÷ ∑(Wi)
or
Weighted Average (%) = (P1W1 + P2W2 + ... + PnWn) ÷ (W1 + W2 + ... + Wn)
Calculate the weighted average (%) for:
Apply the values in the formula:
= (90×3 + 95×4 + 87×2) ÷ (3 + 4 + 2)
= (270 + 380 + 174) ÷ 9
= 824 ÷ 9
= 91.56%
= (88×2 + 65×3 + 70×5) ÷ (2 + 3 + 5)
= (176 + 195 + 350) ÷ 10
= 721 ÷ 10
= 72.1%
