Winning (%) = (2 × Wins + Ties) ÷ (2 × Total Games) × 100
or
Winning (%) = Wins + (1 ÷ 2 × Ties) ÷ Total Games × 100
A soccer team has 20 wins, 7 losses, and 3 ties.
= (2 × 20 + 3) ÷ (2 × 30) × 100
= 43 ÷ 60 × 100
= 0.7167 × 100
= 71.67%
A team has 12 wins, 15 losses, and 4 ties.
= 12 + (1 ÷ 2 × 4) ÷ 31 × 100
= (12 + 2) ÷ 31 × 100
= (14 ÷ 31) × 100
= 0.4516 × 100
= 45.16%
