The percent off calculator is designed to compute the final cost after discounts and see how much you will save.
The following formula is used:
Amount Saved = Original Price × (Percent Off ÷ 100)
Final Price = Original Price - Amount Saved
A product costs $199 and is 30% off. Find the final price and the amount you saved.
Apply the values in the formula:
Saved amount = $199 × (30 ÷ 100) = $59.7
Final price = $199 - $59.7 = $139.3
A grocery bill is $2,400, and received a 7% discount.
Apply the values in the formula:
Saved amount = $2,400 × (7 ÷ 100) = $168
Final price = $2,400 - $168 = $2,232
