How to Calculate the Percentage of a Percentage

Formula used:

(Percent 1 ÷ 100) × (Percent 2 ÷ 100) × 100

or

(Percent 1 × Percent 2) ÷ 100

Example 1:

What is 30% of 55%?

Apply the values in the formula:

= (30 ÷ 100) × (55 ÷ 100) × 100

= 0.3 × 0.55 × 100

= 16.5%

Example 2:

What is 25% of 82%?

= (25 × 82) ÷ 100

= 2,050 ÷ 100

= 20.5%
