How to Convert Percent to Ratio

Formula used:

x% = x : 100

Then, divide both numbers by their greatest common factor (GCF) to simplify the ratio.

Example 1:

Convert 15% to a Ratio

15% = 15 : 100

The GCF of 15 and 100 is 5:

= 15 ÷ 5 : 100 ÷ 5

= 3 : 20

Example 2:

Convert 70% to a Ratio

70% = 70 : 100

The GCF of 70 and 100 is 10:

= 70 ÷ 10 : 100 ÷ 10

= 7 : 10
